About Intella
Intella builds AI mission intelligence software for satellite fleet operations. Our products help operators see the live status of their fleet, get qualified recommendations on what to do next, and orchestrate operations workflows. We are a seed-stage deep-tech company of around 15 people based at PoliHub and ESA BIC in Milan, working with commercial and institutional space operators in Europe and the US.
The role
You will own the commercial pipeline: from finding the right operators, agencies and primes to closing the deal. You will also lead our participation in public tenders and funding calls, which are a core revenue channel in this industry, not a side activity.
You will be part of our new Business division and report to the Chief Commercial Officer, working closely with the founders, product and engineering. The role is hands-on: you will spend a lot of time in front of customers, at conferences, and on the road.
What you will do
Sales and pipeline
- Identify, qualify and close new business with satellite operators, space agencies, primes and integrators in Europe, the US and Asia.
- Run the full sales cycle: outreach, discovery, demos, proposals, negotiation, contract.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with international customers.
- Keep the CRM and pipeline forecast accurate and up to date.
Tenders and institutional business
- Monitor and identify relevant tenders, grants and funding calls (ESA, EU, national and regional programmes) and assess fit and win probability.
- Lead or coordinate the preparation of bids and proposals together with the founders and the technical team.
- Build relationships with institutional stakeholders and consortium partners.
Market and events
- Represent Intella at industry conferences and events in Europe, the US and Asia.
- Map new markets, segments and partnership opportunities.
- Feed customer and market insights back to product and engineering.
Marketing support
- Contribute to the go-to-market and editorial plan with the marketing and design team.
- Help produce sales material, case studies and proposals.
What we are looking for
Must have
- 3+ years of B2B business development or sales experience selling complex software or technology products.
- Proven track record of closing deals and managing a pipeline end to end.
- Experience preparing or contributing to tenders, public bids or funding proposals.
- Excellent written and spoken English. You will work with international customers daily.
- Strong willingness to travel frequently: customer visits and conferences in Europe, the US and Asia are a core part of the job, not an occasional extra.
- Autonomy and ownership. We are a small team and you will run your area with little supervision.
- Based in Italy.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of the space, aerospace or satellite operations sector.
- Knowledge of the dual-use and governmental or defence sector, including how institutional procurement works.
- Existing network among satellite operators, agencies or primes.
- Experience with ESA, EU or national funding programmes.
- Italian and other European languages.
Where and how we work
- Hybrid: 2 days a week in our office in Milan (PoliHub and ESA BIC), the rest remote.
- Full remote is possible for the right candidate, agreed case by case.
- Frequent travel to customer meetings and conferences in Europe, the US and Asia. All travel expenses are covered.
- Flexible working hours.
What we offer
- Gross annual salary between €45k and €55k, negotiable based on experience.
- Success fee on closed contracts and deals, terms agreed at hiring.
- End-of-year bonus based on OKRs and performance.
- Welfare bonus.
- Computer and business equipment.
- Company retreats.
- Direct exposure to the founders and a real say in how a seed-stage deep-tech company grows.
